Putting science, technology, engineering and mathematics into the minds of America’s youth focusing on middle and high school youth (grades 6 – 12) and instilling interest in developing basic skill sets for career opportunities.

The mission for the Navy league STEM Institute is to put science, technology, engineering and mathematics into the minds of America’s youth focusing on middle and high school youth and to instill interest in developing basic skill sets for career opportunities. The STEM Institute and the Office of Naval Research co-sponsor the Naval STEM Expo each year prior to the Sea Air Space Expo which is free to attend. Councils are encouraged to generate an interest in the STEM program by sponsoring or assisting in the science fairs, and other events.
